Hey guys, need some info. and input on this topic.

Removed the eds system on my 603 (motor swap into a w201). I have the basic working currently, which is oil pressure, starter, and wired the oil level sender aswell.

I am in the working in making the stock w124 glow plug relay to work in the chassis which is a w201. I have left to do is, making the temp guage work, not sure if the resistence is the same from diesel to gas, but I will get to that a littler later on.

And lastly the tach signal, I left the crank positional sensor in place, but have not wired this yet, not sure where this would go?I know the eds controlled the tach signal. Any ideas how I can go about this.

I was thinking about using a dakota digital tach and the sensors, but I want to keep it as oem as possible with the cluster.

and if the engine is going into a previously gas-driven car, then talk to Bob Myers (also mentioned in that thread) about his custom tach amp for replicating the signal the gas tach needs.

Does anyone have the information from this dead thread?

Trying to figure out how to get a 53DZ box to work with a factory cluster, my original 1995 300e one, or a 1992 500E cluster.

Either way i would like to keep an original cluster and have accurate spedo/tach readouts.

Tach signal problem is really easy to solve. Dakota digital sells a rev counter box with pick up that is programmable to whatever output is needed. Ask them for the DSL-2 retails for 129.99 usd.
