I was under the impression that all of the N/A om617, especially the euro cars were the M pumps. I have a parts car and removed the pump just assuming it was an M pump but have found that it has MW in the tag number. Is this correct?

M pumps are only on European Non-Turbo 617. MW pumps are on ALL Turbo 617 and US Non-Turbo 617.

I guess maybe this pump was changed at some point then, as this 300D was imported from Italy...I even have the original bill of sale.

So If I put the '83 turbo injection pump I have on my non turbo '77 engine I wouldn't see a change?

Turbo MW pumps are different than Non-Turbo MW pumps, in the ALDA and fueling in general.

Maybe I'll give it a go and see what happens whether it be worse performance, better performance, or non stop smoking...

Right. There is no boost to burn additional fuel or actuate the ALDA so you wouldn't get any more fueling than a non-turbo engine usually gets.

Same as the turbo model, adjust/remove the rack limiter.
