Rusted out A/W intercooled eBay 300D

Have a 1983 300D 4SPD intercool turbo DIESEL it will run on BIODIESEL VEGESTABLE WASTE OIL OR DIESEL a true trifuel car, it has a 4spd shifts very smothe and works so munch better that the automatic its great and easy to drive , i put a intercooler and modified the injection pump will get 25-30 mile to the gallon on either fuel depending how you drive it, i use it everyday but need a bigger vehicle to carrie stuff, so i'm looking to ge t diesel blazer, i bougth it from the second owner that had it for over 15 years, the only rust its what you see in the pictures, i being driving it for 2-3 years with no problems, i put a water to AIR intercooler with a heat exchanger in the front of the car, it has a 140 AMP chevy alternator i rebuild a month ago and a new battery , when i got it had a crack in the rear shaft boot i replace it and fill it with grease, it makes a little noice on take off some times, it also needs front end work and has play on the steering wheel, easy fixing, the rear windows will not go down but no one had sat in the rear since i own the car, A/C stop working last summer never look in to it, evrything else its good, its a fun and fast car to drive and will get around 15-20lbs of boost and i put a intercooler gauge for fun, this is not your slow mercedes 300d it will suprise you how quick it is ,the tries are about 70% i change the cluster last year the tach would not work the new one says 147659 but it had 135 plus when i change it and the old one about 170 K thas why i put 188K remenber this engines are call million mile engines the clutch its good and all around its pretty good remenber its over 25 years old, will deliver any where in florida or southern GA for .50 cents a mile i'm relisting it because it was removed by EBAY the vin was off a number so much care for a clasic by ebaymotors THANKS GUYS. any questions email me

It looks like he's run a line directly from the turbo whatnot (what part of the turbo is that) directly to the ALDA. Then the only other vacuum in the whole engine bay seems to be the shutoff line which is beautifully simple.
I know on my own car, the line from the turbo seems to go through some kind of similar valve to the overboost protection relay, plus some other stuff on the 85. Can I just do what he's done?
What has he done here, how does the ALDA interact with the turbo?

Explain some of the vacuum simplification to me.
It looks like he's run a line directly from the turbo whatnot (what part of the turbo is that) directly to the ALDA. Then the only other vacuum in the whole engine bay seems to be the shutoff line which is beautifully simple.

Except that the line is connected to the nipple of the vacuum diaphragm of the ARV, it doesn't see any airflow.
