Exhaust Pipe for G Wagon 461.401
Exhaust Pipe for G Wagon 461.401
Hi Guys,
i am new here and not sure if it is right that i drop this post here in this topic.
I want to change the engine in my G wagon, from an om 602 to a OM 606 Turbo diesel (just with max. 180 HP). So far so good.
The engine is ready and in my Workshop, the engine run's well ?.
My original Exhaust Pipe is broken (30 years old), i have to build a new one. The pipe itself is ready, but i need a sound absorber to get under 87 (dba).
In the next post, i attech some pictures from, what i have already done.
Kind regards from Germany, Steffen
Hi,
Here are the pictures from the sound absorber.
The Pipe
Sheet holder
inlet side
inlet side
The exhaust gets through a 60 mm pipe in the end of the sound aborber, my opinon is that the exhaust have to get through some stainless steel wool in front and get through the sheet with the many holes on the other side.
And go through this 60mm hole in the following pipe,
the special pipe for this side of the sound absorber is ready, but i dont have a picture, i will be send it later.
Is it a good constuction?
can it work good with a nice and small nosie?
Kind reguards from Germany,
Steffen
Well just my opinion... turbodiesels go very well with only a mufler at the end of a long pipe. For perceived noise.
But if u want to measure 87 decibels at the pipe that silencer should do. Anyway it will restrict a lot. U could have it done wider.
Ok,
thank you for your answer,
Do you mean a think like that https://www.google.de/search?q=db+killer...tAXt20UvUM
