Getting bad lifter noise when hot / after freeway driving
So the car makes only the smallest bit of lifter noise when first started, goes away within 5 seconds. Driving around town (35-40 mph) there is no lifter noise. But if you drive on the freeway, its gets really bad and stays that way when you get off for some time. Im assuming the lifters are going bad? Could this have been an issue from oil pressure from using a new turbo feed line to the HX30? Either way, I need to do something since I feel like its worsening with time.

The lifters were updated at some point. The old head gaskets are also known to leak pressurized oil at the head gasket back into the timing chain area, reducing head oil pressure.
I did new lifters and head gasket at the same time on my '87 motor and it fixed it.
