Greetings from Chicago! The name's Kev. I picked up this two owner, two-tone Brilliant Silver '95 E300 D last August. As of today, she's got around 337,000 miles or so.

Typical issues abound, and my goals are somewhat typical amongst most of you on this forum. My goal is to get all the rust cut out or repaired, and try to keep as much of the original paint intact. I am currently saving for OM606.962 pistons and an injection pump service for the Superturbo transformation. Big Grin

I was originally planning to just fix the car and flip it for cash, but after daily driving the car for a few weeks, I fell in love with it.

In a year, I hope to use it for a cross-country trip down Route 66 I have had planned for the past 4 years with my fiancee.

I've been lurking about and have a rough idea of what I need to do. Thank you all for the help in advance, and wish me luck on my project!

You've got a great car there w124 with an om606 very rare. They only made the w124 chassis with this motor for one year. A om606.962 turbo motor out of a 1998-99 E300D would bolt right in there if your looking for more power. Other wise the current engine should last a life time if properly serviced. You can also add a turbo to the stock non turbo engine they are good to around 300hp. But the stock turbo motor will last longer with a turbo.
