Maybe that's why my heat doesn't work
Oh SAS! Get it going. You can flash a light through the little grill on side of center console . that's the ac fan...should not be turning. My AC dial was in the off position so I assumed heater fan was on. I was wrong. My ac switch is in the mid high position but the heater fan is on. I have no compressor in it currently so can't say how that circuit is affected. Also with heat on you should have no air from the center vents. No heat comes from there. If you close the vent and find air is still coming through stick a screwdriver through the vent and a linkage screw turned clockwise will close the flap all the way. Mine was still allowing cold air, that's how I know that one. And of course they say if your heater fan is dead wave goodbye to ten hours replacing it. Some have had success squirting oil on it and loosening a siezed fan.
Well ugh. Got this car running good in the cold but now I need control arms. Damn shock mount tore through it.
Is it a job worth doing?
larsalan I guess I need to look at this stupid ass drip shit. What you have to like mess with those elements on the pump? What a fucking hassle. then use some wire to hold the throttle open or some shit?
I welded a 1/4" plate to my rear control arm when it rusted out. Just add a spacer to the good side and you're rednecked and back on the road.

Lol this thing is baaadd. I don't think there's much to weld too.
Had a boss who welded a couple steel straps all the way across the bottom and curved up around the edges on a 300D with a shock blow out like this, then bolted the shock to them. This gave the car a few more years, but that control arm is shot. Im sure you could do the same thing, but eventually anything you do will be temporary if its that rusted on the inside.
Lol I'm afraid the spring is gonna go through it. I've sourced a couple out just gotta squeeze the trigger.
I learn with each one of these rust buckets. My first 240 had some pin holes in the control arms. I guess these things are prone to rot. Just like the floors hidden under rubber. And every damn other place :-)
I probably should just assume my 85 has rusty arms too and just buy a couple sets.
Well I am excited to have some California grade arms on their way.
I was thinking good time to do shocks right? I can't find HD bilsteins for the w115. I'm I not searching right?

Delivery valve was the hook up. I think any part that goes on the car from now on will be POR 15 painted. Im thinking im following your footsteps. I don't want to bring a clean rust free car to Chicago that would be a sin. If it's in the junkyard already i'll take the parts though. I'm really hoping to get good at welding my rust holes this summer. Probably be emailing you my partner in rust destruction.

I hear that! If I had a barn I'd horde those parts up. No part left behind.
Pics!!! We love pics!. So I finally have the car on the lift of my mechanic. I am not ready to mess with this so I will pay the cost.... It's partially apart, at initial glance prognosis is good. Gonna throw some new shocks in there whiles it's apart. Should be driving this guy next week. Arm and skid plate picture that I promised like 6 months ago.
Another pic of the arm.

He didn't drop it all the way. I will be coating it this summer though.
Update. All went together well but the e brake cables are a different length between w115 and 123. Haven't swapped that yet. Gonna pick up car today and drop off next week to do those cables. I know now I'm just getting lazy right?

Shoot I'm even going to let him change the oil. ;-)
Been super busy with school.
Had a trans cooling line go out this week. Only lost two quarts. New line in good to go. Flushed coolant real well last week. Still driving.
Think my temp sending unit is bad. temp still reading a little hot.
