Hello long time reader first time poster.

I picked my 83' 300d about 1 year ago with intentions of reselling it after I fixed it up but after driving it a month (because of my clutch failure in my tdi) im keeping. Im sure you know how that goes. but anyways im down to a few things that need to be done before it can be trusted to be my daily driver.

1. the heater fan/controls don't work
2. valve job and valve cover replacement
3. I would like to get the transmission fixed it shifts really hard

ive redone the body and changed the color from manila folder yellow to a dark grey. completely different car from when I got it a year ago.

Transmission can shift really hard if 2 things.
1. the vacuum line from the back of the injection pump and VCV (vacuum control valve) leading to the transmission modulator has disconnected or malfunctioning.

2. the bowden cable is too tight

3. other I cant help you Wink

Rusted out beat down 300d turbo 82' -- RIP
Nice body, tons of ridiculous mechanical issues - 300d turbo 82' /motor 85'

That little vacume line us kinda rotted, when it shifts under a fairly good load its real fast and harsh, when your under normal conditions its real long and drawn out and still harsh, almost like the kickdown is off or somthing, im used to old mopars and big diesels so this vacume stuff us new to me, haha

Alright, it's been awhile since I've been on the ol interwebs. But I havnt been slacking on my car.

Since the last time I was on here I:
Changed all the belts/ thermostat
Deleted all the original gauges and built my own cluster
And I'm in the process of deleting the a.c. and making my own heaterbox

And since I have the center console out I want to dye the carpet, I have a can of black dye but I think that will be too dark, any thoughts?

Oh yea ill upload pics of my new cluster tomorrow, I'm too lazy to go out now

Please please please let's see the cluster!

In the works: A/W IC, adjust pump, turbo rebuild (w/60 trim comp wheel)
