drilling air fittings..?? 300sd
drilling air fittings..?? 300sd
hi guys
I have read from some old std posts that some guys
do the drilling of air fittings...to equalize a bit of garret boost?
I assume that you (I) have to drill banjo bolt back on manifold and one on alda a 1mm or so, wider and put a bit wider hose..say 4 or 5mm?
correct?
why I wanna do it....I have a loooong turbo lag and sudden heavy boost
thanks
cheers

(09-21-2012, 08:08 AM)aaa Have you looked into the higher stall torque converter? Might help with lag.

larsalan I guess I need to look at this stupid ass drip shit. What you have to like mess with those elements on the pump? What a fucking hassle. then use some wire to hold the throttle open or some shit?
Check your ALDA lines as well-they may be dirty and partially clogged,
or
Adjust / remove the ALDA so that the fueling curve is a bit smoother

already did , banjo's & lines are fine and clean...
I'm thinking of ALDA removal but some guys reported significant
fuel consumption issues... well,... no win win here I guess ...

Significant fuel usage if you always mash the pedal
A small, GENTLE adjustment may help you

Try adjusting the ALDA It only affects off boost fueling
thanks guys,..
ALDA has been already adjusted also..."until smoke appears"
a year back.... basically I don't have a weak power problem,......
sudden (power) boost is issue I would like to resolve
some KKK turbo might help
.
I just found this one considering lag:
A downpipe with a smaller inner diameter offers less airflow, slightly reducing top-end horsepower. However, the smaller pipe diameter increases the speed of exhaust flow, thus allowing your turbocharger to spool faster, increasing response and low-end power.
is this true?
how to do calculation how much HP I will lose with 2 inch pipe instead
2.5 inch which I have now?

I would keep the 2.5" downpipe. Do you have a boost gauge installed?
