Ive converted an N/A 605... Blew oil seals in the turbo, because the oil return was sloppy done (high)..
And wondered if it would be safe to do the oil return in with a banjo plug into the oil drain whole of the oilpan?

If the passages are large enough, yes. If I remember correctly the drain on my 617 was ~ 3/4" in diameter from the turbo to the block.

I wouldn't use a banjo to restrictive, just use some AN -10 there are fittings for the turbo drain. No kinks, strain down, weld a bung onto the oil pan. Call it good. You might want to look into a restrictor on the feed side of the turbo if it still is blowing out the seals.

hi,
kozuka is right. Don't use a banjo. make sure oil return can gravity feed away from turbo with a good flow. weld a pipe onto top of sump
