ive always used lubro moly diesel purge every 5-6 months and works great.

i was wondering what is lubro moly made up of?

i have heard from other boards and various other members that Redline DTC or 85+ octane can be used for a diesel purge?

any one have any insight on this?

the cool thing about lubromoly as opposed to the other additives is that the engine can run off of it straight. so it's a quick and simple routine of filling up your next fuel filter with the stuff and screwing it back on.

If DP makes a difference more than once, you need to find a better quality source of fuel.

Im prob one of the few guys thats constantly keeping my car is top shape as everything is practically new in my car and running perfect. I add good fuel always and im not saying the lubro moly makes my car run better i just do it for preventative maintenance as im anal to keeping the car in perfect running order.

All i can say is every 6 months on a perfect running car i still get a crap load of rusty material and nasty soot cleaned out of the injection system along with the nasty yellowish sulfer deposits.( if thats what it is?)

Where do you get all the junk? I know the bottle gets blackish while its running but since its feeding and returning out of the same bottle, I never got anything really left in the bottle..... What did I do wrong?

You get fuel from places that keep their tanks clean and pumps filtered.

When i do my purge and this is prob truefor everyone else also, we use the supply and return from the same bottle. Which means were sucking back all the nasty crap that come out back into our system.

My next purge im making a seperate bottle for the return junk

That will just waste 99.9% of it. The lift pump flows far more fuel than is consumed.

So then why isn't all the crap caught by the secondary filter the first time? Or is the sludge and junk just buildup that the filter doesn't catch?

Typically when you do a diesel purge, you change your filter right after for that very purpose.
