(05-18-2017, 08:26 PM)don Hi-

I want to modify a OM617 intake so that it would be easier/better routing for an intercooler setup.

The engine is in a Land Rover 110.  The 110 runs a factory radiator and IC in the front shroud.  IC is on the left side (US driver side).

I am planning on buying a used OM617 intake manifold and modifying it by cutting the turbo and EGR area and welding in a new coupler angled more toward the front but depending on how things layout.

I found this one while looking for IC routing pieces: http://www.mandrelbends.com/transitions-...upler.html

If anyone has any input I would greatly appreciate it.  Thank you.

If you use a intake from a federal US car from California the intake port from the turbo is higher an will clear a non federal exhaust manifold turbo mount so you can plumb the intercooler. There is one on E-bay right now 1985 # 282141429295

Thanks for the info! Looks like a feasible option.

I am actually going to buy an intake from Alec (thanks!) as the routing seems like it would work best with hood clearance. I found an old thread on one of the Mercedes forums saying that the long runners of the W115 NA intake actually help a little in low end torque so that could be interesting if true.
