(03-27-2018, 08:38 PM)atypicalguy OK I found an old 500sl non ASR diff and axles to put in. Seems like the SL rear cover has a nicer arm on it to counteract axial rotation of the diff housing, with a long protrusion to one side, so it would be cool to have a subframe that allows use of the SL rear cover.

How hard are these wavetrac things to set up?

Anybody try an SL subframe in a w124? Otherwise I will get a w124 v8 subframe from Jeff in Irvine.

And is hedgehog really the best urethane bushing outfit for these cars?

A guy down the road from me who is modding a coupe used a 500SL donor and apparently the rear subframe bolts in. I haven't seen it, but he told me.

Ake's LCA bushes I rate.
His subframe mounts, you need to be careful which subframe you have because there are two versions, the deep version and the shallow.
His adjustable 5 link rears with urethane bushes aren't cheap, but they are well made.
I would always opt for the factory MB wagon rear antirollbar link which is metal, and not the plastic $hit from the sedans, coupes and on 201's.

You have to ask yourself how often do you get your vehicle on a hoist to do maintenance, because urethane bushes need regular lubrication.
