Hi everyone, I have been looking around this site for a couple of years now but I have only just picked up my project car!
It's a 1998 C250td auto, I was looking all over the country for one for quite a while but waiting paid off as the perfect car came up for sale 10minutes from my house!

This build isn't going to be anything crazy just a good fast daily, to4e turbo, manifold adapter, ecu from synat (when I sell my subaru) etc,
I have fitted a big k&n air filter along with egt and boost gauges, egr delete and done the resistor mod with a 4k3ohm resistor on a switch, goes very well and will do me until the rest comes together, I am a welder/fabricator so making things won't be an issue,

nice looks like a good daily that should be fun. which T04E are you looking at/running? i see the various trim compressors output from ~44-56lb/minute. i might look at something slightly more modern in the same flow range. there are a few newer Holsets that should be good and quite cheap. the HE351WG comes to mind. anyways good luck hope it turns out fun.

85 300D om617: 8mm M pump 175cc 5200rpm, holset he221w @ 30psi, large A2W ic, compounds on the way.

It's only an ebay to4e, when it's all on I will start to look at bigger pump elements and possibly a new turbo, this one should be good to max my original pump

looks ok i wouldn't count on it lasting forever i also wouldn't push too much boost with that. that being said who knows i have seen some china turbos last forever i high boost applications. does yours have a 722.6 behind it? if so a trans tune can help make it more responsive as well. im not sure who does stock tcu tunes however i have heard good things about the improvement in drivability from the aftermarket tcu's.

I think it is a 722.6 and it would be nice to tune the box a little,

Tonight I had some tinkering time so I got rid of all the old plastic boost pipes and the egr unit, then fitted some new boost pipes, the engine bay looks a little one sided now but it has opened up a nice big space for the to4e Smile

Thanks! Wont be massive power, this setup should let me max the original pump so upto 250bhp should be seen on this setup, and keeping the auto box it should be a good daily Smile

Be interesting to see how this goes & if the spool up is reasonable with the T04e.
What exact size did you go for in the end the one you posted, AR.50?

I’m running a similar set up & so is Charlie, we both using gt2871 China turbo’s & neither have had an issue so far.

Are you planning on retaining the stock intercooler & exhaust?

Yes it's the one I posted, I will be upgrading the exhaust to 2.5in and upgrade the intercooler as soon as possible, I am looking at fitting a 3bar map sensor and running 2bar,i don't mind being a test mule to see how it holds up Wink

Hey Jamie,

Im glad to see ur on progress.

I think the t04e would be a bad choice with 722.6 on 6mm, but lets see how it spools.

i will give u a good advice to build ur t3 triangel adaptor with a massiv pipe, something like 70mm or bigger. it will increase ur power massivly

greetings from germany, my t04e is still holding the 2 bars Wink

Thanks, I have been looking at at how big I can get the outlet from the manifold, it's definitely going to be a good learning curve!

STDGer you have this same set up on your car right, running a stage 2 mapped Ecu off of Sean right?

Is your car a manual & do you use the resistor/evry mod as well?

What sort of RPM is your car coming on to boost?
What RPM do you get full boost by?

Yes ur right.
i ve a manual and sean s map s2

Ive welded a t3 adapter direkt to oem manifold to keep the oem look of the engine bay.

at 2k it will make a light breeze of around 0.3 bar.

1 bar at 3.2k full on around 3.6 in 3 gear

Made some good progress this weekend, gotgthe to4e fitted!

Made up a manifold adapter from some 50mm id tube,
[Image: IMG_20180223_151142_299.jpg]

Very happy with the result, I see about 1.4bar by 3.5k, so I am very happy about that seeing as mine is an auto, still only have a 3.9 resistor on a switch, seems more than enough fuel for now,
