190d springs. - Jtn190D - 12-28-2009

Hi guys i need some new springs on my car, but i don't want to lower any, is there any good springs the will make my ride better? and what brand? i saw vogtland's but there all lowering ones, and where is a good place to buy over the internet?
Thanks a Lot!

do you want harder or softer springs?

if you want harder, get some 500E springs and cut a couple coils off - should ride like the stocker but be harder.

if you want softer... ugh... you really cant get softer than the stockers in the dTurbo.

why dont you want to lower it?

I don't want to lower it becuse i live way back in the woods and have a dirt driveway and i think if i lower it i would be harder to get out maybe not? but i just want a nice ride i looked at the vogtlands but they all seem to be lowering ones? where do you guys buy springs?
Thanks a Lot!

A lot of us are the 'roll your own' type around here, ie since the MB design allows us to get away with cutting a coil or two off of the stock springs, we do. Some are running the Vogtlands or in the case of one wagon Lesjofors.

Sounds like, if you want stiffer but the same ride height, you should follow 2.5-10's advice.

A year ago, I had to replace the rear springs on my 190D 2.5, as the originals had broken a coil or two....

(Strange, Practically every M.B. Ive owned has suffered with a broken spring or two.....)

I am based in the UK and a Co. called, Eurocarparts (On the web) supplied them, although I suspect they are a stiffer spring as the back-end definately feels harder than it was.....
--I'm guessing they should be able to supply overseas if you need them....
