How to increase fuel flow on C220D(OM604)? (thinking of evry mod) - ppap - 01-26-2021

Hello. This summer I'll be installing a turbo in my W202 C220D. I've got most of the details figured out, but I couldn't find any answers on how to increase the amount of fuel going to the engine. I recently discovered "evry mod" and I think that would work well however I cant find any info on how to install it on my engine. I came across people installing it on OM605 and OM606 but I'm not sure it would be the same for me since their engines have Bosch pumps and mine has Lucas. So basically my question how can I increase the fuel going to the engine? Also how do I install evry mod on this engine, which wires do I need to splice in to? How does evry mod generaly work?

Thanks in advance.

Well , u wont succeed as the lucas pump is much diff from M edc.
But u can swap your pump to mechanichal M and then u can have lot of fuel.
Btw chiping or tricking the ECU wont give u fuel out of the map that is written in the ECU memory.
Only real good solution is either replacing ECU maps or going mechanichal.
If u ever need a superpump ... feel free to PM

Thanks for the answer. So am I correct that my fuel pump is not driven by the engine either by a chain or gears? By swaping my pump with a mechanical one, do you mean the one placed on OM601 engines? Also is it bolt on? Are the 605 and 606 mechanicaly driven? One last thing im just curious how this every mods works?

Evry works by convincing the ECU that the fuel control rod is not out as far as it really is. Thus a little more fuel is delivered. The way it does this is inherently limited by the existing fuel table limits.
If you try to push this technique very far, the internal algorithms will become unstable and the driving experience will be seriously comprised.

Editing the internal tables is the proper route.

Yestardy we tested evry mod on om604, so the best result we got 12s 0-100 sprint. We gess around 120hp.  Between 2 & 3 loom you need to find potenciometer 2.0 kOHM - 2.2 kOHM.
Also boost is needed

Is this the right place (red circles) to put the potentiometer? Or is it somewhere else?

yes its right , between those two wires

And its bad news we got connecting rod out of the block. Engine had 350 000 km on speedo , always oil change every 10 000 km elf 5w40. everything was working fine. So we did not expect that at all.

Thanks a lot for your help and sorry to hear about the bad news with the engine.
About the pontetiometer, does it need to be 2.0 kOHM - 2.2 kOHM or can I go lower or higher and do you know what is the safe zone, can something go wrong if I set it too low(blown fuse, damaging the ecu or pump, etc.)? Also do you know what the default resistance is without a potentiometer?

We use 2.2kohm poteciometer, so u can lower until about 2.1 kohm, at that moment idle will be 1200 rpm and it will start hunting a bit. If u will lower more, then engine will be shut down and edc light will go on. Also cold engine tends to do that more than warm. Default we didnt measure.

Today I tried installing it however once I opened the cable harness I saw that the cables weren't the same colour as the ones in the diagram I posted above. What was the colour of the cables you spliced into?

Best to trace back to the connector for the injection pump. That way you will be sure.

Its in the separate bunch of wires. Violet and redwhite
Also if u open socket there u will find corresponding numeration

Only be aware, after taking apart we didnt find other malfunction signs, bad wear or stuck parts just connecting rod broken in to half. So we think there was bad injection timing or amount of diesel as we tried to adjust resistance

Thanks a lot for the help. I installed it today and it works just like you said. The car is not turboed yet, but it still had a noticable gain in power.
Anyway, you think that the problem you had was caused by the evry mod messing up the injection timing, or something else messed it up?
Also, where did you run the cable through?

We think that, because car was always well maintened, and after taking apart internals looks okay, cylinders , pistones, crankshaft in good shape. Also no sign of bad lubrication.
I dont know how to upload here pictures i have some
