Using a Upgraded Pump OM603 on OM606 N/A 24v ? - crockettman66 - 10-26-2020

Hi folks,

New to the forum, (well impressed with the info on it!)

I'm wondering if you can use an upgraded OM603 pump 6mm / 7.5mm on a NON turbo W124  OM606 24v?

Will there be a decent benefit power wise?
Or will it be chuffing out black coal?

Thanks

Yes, you could use it. No, it will not make more power.  If you don't put in any more air, then you're not going to make more power.  The OM606NA injection pump can my tuned more precisely than the OM603 pumps, so you will probably make less power after swapping pumps.

If you want to go to a mechanical pump, then a stock OM603 turbo pump is already going to put out more fuel than you will ever need without a turbo. No point in wasting money on bigger elements.

Thanks vica153,

Cheers for the information, best stick with it as it goes well for what it is..been looking for a turbo 300d here in Spain but most are keepers or near junk..

Thanks.

Talk to Alcaid who is in Europe and on this forum. I have a good 99 300td kkk turbo I would let go. It's an oem wastegated turbo. Do your homework on going turbo on a non turbo engine. There are differences in the pistons.etc.
