OM 606 EGR Delete - zeeman - 04-18-2020

Is it possible to just remove the internals in the EGR so the vacuum diaphragm still functions and the pressure hose is still intact and plug off the exhaust port and have it not throw a ECU code ?

For the OM606 version in the W210, there is a resistor and diode fix that allows you to remove the EGR.

I was concerned that if these failed at some point and you were on the road some were you would be screwed. I was hoping there would be a way to fool the MAF that the air flow hadn't changed. But I guess this is the only way to eliminate the EGR.

The worst that will happen is that the engine goes into limp mode. The E300 will still get around nicely with the reduced power. The much heavier G300 with terrible aerodynamics is a hazard to drive in limp mode.

Would of been helpful to have also had a pin number layout to find the #21 and #35 wire among the 55 wires. It took some doing to find a drawing of this. For the non electronic people of us. LOL !

Get a bright light and magnifying glass, and look into the connector. They are labeled at the ends of the rows. Admittedly not easy.
