Pre-IC water injection - ForcedInduction - 11-06-2009

My intercooler's 60/40 coolant boils if its fed 15psi+ for more than a few seconds. Doing a little math with the online WI calculators, the turbo air temperature can be reduced from 300*f to 225*f (about the same temp as 10psi) using the 300cc/minute nozzle I currently have laying around from my old WI system.

It would only be active above 15psi, but condensing/pooling in the IC is my primary concern. I am planning on replacing the condenser/radiator with a better (higher flow) radiator, but that may not be until next year.

Thoughts?

If the injected water/meth mixture boils at a temp lower than the IC water, I don't think it would be a problem with condensing/pooling.

Sounds like you have a water flow problem. Can you split the circuit somewhere and measure the flow into a bucket?

At 15psi you shouldn't have 300F. I have 135C (275F) at 20psi, at 15psi I was getting 105C (220F).

What kind of pump are you running? How much capacity of liquid do you have? My system has a capacity of 2 gallons. I don't think I am having any issues with boiling over.
