A-pump. P-pump, M-pump and MW-pump governors - PlaneCrazy - 11-20-2018

Greetings, all

I have been looking into this, but I cannot find any reliable answers without actually purchasing examples of these pumps, which is way too expensive for little old me to afford.

I know that the M-pump, MW-pump, A-pump and P-pump all use the RSV governor in certain applications. I also know that the M-pump and the P-pump used an EDC actuator (specifically, the M-pump on W210 OM605 and OM606).

I was wondering if either of these EDC actuators could fit onto an MW-pump. Or if somebody knows if any MW pumps were used with EDC, say as electric generators etc. Perhaps somebody knows the difference between the rear mounting faces of these pumps, where the governors bolt on to.

Thanks

Why would you want an MW?

You have a OM617 don't you? Or trying to fit onto a non MB engine? The EDC governor end should swap onto ya normal OM617 M pump...at least my Barrote built 7.5mm has a OM60x governor

EDC pump housing is a different casting than the normal M pump. It's a completely different shape on the governor end, but it wouldn't be super difficult to cut the tail end off and weld.

Aha. Yep well there's not much to them....you could even make your own external electronic controller for an IP if one wished

you can bolt an edc tail housing onto a normal m pump with an adapter plate.

EDC pumps are only M and H from the inlines.
P are not EDC from my knowledge.
Anyhow why would anyone use a EDC governor in a MW?
M pumps use RSF governors wich are variable speed governors. RSV is a variable load governor , suitable only for industrial aplications.
RSQ are the governor from MW. RQV is another type of governor used in MW .
