617-95X wagon exhaust - build your own? - MTUPower - 03-03-2018

Who has built their own exhaust for a w123?  I want to go bigger- 3 inch.  Please advise!

I did mine all in stainless steel sanitary pipe, in 2 1/2". Went from the header pipe back, with a home made resonator. I took the old exhaust off and laid it out and copied it with the stainless. A chop saw and tig welder work great, but a mig welder can also be used. You could do regular steel in 3" by using the old ends and copying the pattern. Pm me if you want pics.

I just googled stainless steel sanitary pipe and am looking over the selection of providers. I'm not a welder- but my neighbor might be able to help. please send pics of what you did. I'd like to go with 3 inch. Explain how you made a resonator. thx!
