Before I sell this holset... - capflya - 07-02-2017

Let me start by saying that I only bought it because it was cheap, and looks brand new. I've got a w210 606 that I would be putting this in if I kept it, but I'm thinking it wouldn't work well for a daily driver.

Before I post this up to sell on craigslist I figured I'd see what everyone thought of it? I'm a turbo sizing n00b but have been trying to read up. I'm thinking this wouldn't be that great but maybe it would spool "ok" since the exhaust housing is small?

HX35G
Exhaust housing 9cm (or is it 6?)
Intake side 18cm
Flange - T4i (from what I've gathered on the internet)
Has connections to hook up coolant lines for liquid cooling of the center section

Sorry i can't see the pictures . But holsets as my knowledge goes are identified by turbine housing type(volute is single or twin scroll) and number ( a/r wich in the holsets is marked numbers instead of .8 .63 dada)
Compressor side is same the compressor housing got a type , and volute a/r . And u have anti surge and others.
Then u have a compressor and turbine inside , in your case the HX35.
Unless u have a rare OEM that thing is not so bad for the 606. Expecially if it is housing nr 9. It is a lot better than the stock one but without a mod pump it wont lit up soon and u may dislike the lag.
Anyway u want sell give me a PM.

I would be putting this in only if I got a 7.5 or 8mm pump. Figured it wouldn't do much good on the stock setup unless I got it remapped or did the chip thing to get more fuel.

Yes it will be quite laggy with the stock IP. Interesting it has coolant fittings as well as oil fittings you say? Did not know Hy35 came in that flavour!

It is 9cm2 turbine housing, and unless it is very weird one they all have T3 turbine glange!

I'd be interested in buying if you decide to sell, I'm in UK but I've int'l shipped a few turbo's between here and the states before and it's no problem Smile

Beers,

HH

Yeah... this turbo if I remember right came off a cummins natural gas engine? It is an HX35 but the flange is definitely not a T3 unfortunately.

What do you guys think it's worth? I can feel a little play on the shaft but I'm assuming thats because there is no oil in the turbo? Or is that a bad assumption.. it looks rebuilt/new otherwise

And it has an egt fitting, nice.

They sell for about $200 in the states, and £200 in UK. Maybe 300 in good condition like yours. It's basically a HY35 from an early 5.9 Cummins powered Dodge Ram so they are quite a common take off due to upgrades from those.

RE: Before I sell this holset... - capflya - 07-24-2017

Yeah.. I sold a used HX35 for $300 a year or so ago. It was the one from a manual transmission 2nd gen cummins, the one everyone wants. Guy was buying it to make a hybrid hx35/40 out of it. Not nearly as nice as this one I have now, but more appropriately sized for these diesels.

I'll probably post it on craigslist locally for $350 to get rid of it.
