I found with a good intercooler, free flowing exhaust and Baldurs' DSL1 ecu, the factory turbo makes plenty of HP with no lag and plenty of grunt. Even though I'm running the oe E-pump, I still think you should give the stock turbo a chance. It was designed for that engine. It pulls my 5300 lb F150 easily. In fact it pulls so strongly I just broke either the flex plate or the torque converter adapter or both. Probably a 6 sp manual in my future.
