Om603 ip question - bjarni97 - 03-19-2017

Hi i just put a om606 in my w124 with a om603 pump
And i need to modify the pin the spring attaches to.
I was thinking if i remove this will something inside the pump fall of or out of place.

U dont need to replace that Spring ...
If u remove the pin the guide will fall or not , but it will be very hard to insert the lock pin in there.
BTW why would u want to change that Spring? that thing makes the same very nonsense job with same Spring or with harder... nothing that your 606 engine will benefit.
Replacing the pump elements would Wink.
regards...

RE: Om603 ip question - bjarni97 - 03-19-2017

The problem is that the throttle arm needs more space. The pump already has 7.5mm elements and a hx35. But i can not give more than  maybe 20% throttle becouse the arm hits that thing and the glow plug. But i will just modify it with it in the car then.
Im not trying to replace the spring its already there. Just need to mount it closer to the pump for clearance issues. Even tho thanks for your answer.

Bend the rod around it? I had to get clever with mine.

I just cut that spring pin off and used spring on other place.

I´m sorry i misslead u.
The thing is the thr linkage correct , well u can twist the pump away from the block as much as u can, is better to do that with the engine installed, timing is not easy as the pump when moved to the 606 misses some space, specially if u have a auto trans...
u can manage your own THR linkage, but using a w124 606 N/A installation is the best for u. The late w124 300D models came out with the 606 N/A, thats pretty much what u need.

regards.
