Anyone running an electric feed pump to the injection pump?
What brand/size/type do you recommend for a 8mm 220cc dieselmeken pump?
In-tank or external?

I'm running a holly black pump, external, low psi but huge flow rate. Works well.

Is that one designed for diesel? My ip is supposed to have 1,5bar fuel pressure.. The black is max 14psi

Petrol, diesel, meth i seem to remember.
Never had any fuel issues, it is however noisy, so a silent alternative would be better.
If i did it again i would probably go for 044 and a regulator - possibly a rising rate one too.
But as i said the black works perfectly and no reg is required.

I bought one of these below, along with an inertia cutout switch, but I'm going 603 lift pump with a stiffer spring and higher release pressure return banjo now..

That BMW pump has 4/5 bar pressure. I used them in my gas car, they don't last very long...

The 044 with a pressure regulator works perfectly with no issue on the banjo. In fact you can out run the banjo's ability to release fuel. So its setting is really not relevant. We put the gasoline pick up screen and feed hose in and the stock fuel basket and filter from a gas car. Then the pressure regulator all in the stock location under the car. I tapped the return line at the tank and used all the factory lines. Factory fuel filter as well. So I have a gas filter in the rear and then the standard filters up front. We can out run the injection pump no problem. All in all it might be a bit more expensive but you can set the fuel pressure where ever you like and it mounts in the car like factory.

I bought a walbro 255lph external pump, and a holley billet fuel pressure regulator, adjustable from 4-65 psi.
I have AN6 fittings on my pump, no banjo.
We'll see how it works out.

You want the gas screen and feed hose. It is large enough to feed the pump properly. The diesel hose is just way to small. The 044 will cavitate against it.

So you do not suck a rock into your fuel pump. All cars have a pickup screen in the tank to keep large debris.

That's why we have fuel filters and pre filters. I'd much rather change one of those than getting under the car and getting covered in shit because the strainers clogged, especially if you're running veg oil.

Clogging the strainer is preferable to plugging the feed line itself. Veggie, in particular, is prone to grow algae, which can form blobs that block small openings. My suggestion would be to replace the fine strainer material with a stainless mesh that is just slightly smaller than the narrowest part of the plumbing. The larger mesh can break up the clogs, which can be filtered out by a coarse filter.

So I feel like this is aside to the question at hand. Just an FYI the strainer is really the same but the pickup hose and fitting is different. The gasoline strainer fitting is like 12mm id and a 12 or 14mm id hose. The diesel is what 6 or 7mm. That is the difference I am talking about.
If your strainer is getting clogged repeatedly then you have a problem. That should be about once every 10-20years. And the fuel filters do not protect your fuel pump. They protect your high pressure pump and your injectors. Tanks can have rust and get all sorts of crap in them. When they get old you should have them hot tanked and cleaned out. I have had tanks with a couple of inches of crap in them. Removing the strainer would just reek havoc on the rest of the system.
