Question about a curious injector thingy... - Evgeniy1987 - 11-04-2016

Guys,

I have a question.

As you may read in my thread about the ELITE project, I found this thingy:

This thingy is usually used here, number 22:

But then:

So I thought: naaah ... lets take the hydraulic press and push that out. But the shape is rather unexpected:

See ? The 6 notches do not touch, and are appreximately 3/4 of the length of the whole pin.

The obvious question is: What is this? And why ?

I can think of (major) flow restriction, and thus dampening of high-frequent pressure pulses...

Does somebody know?

Kind regards,

Evgeniy
