Lads,
How does the 606 cope without an oil cooler, is it essential, recommended or overkill for stock power and turbo?

Depends on your application. I've found that driving my Musso truck around at moderate speeds (<100km/h) it never even opens the oil thermostat, oil cooler stays ice cold.
The situation where you need an oil cooler is prolonged operation at high loads and high engine speeds, ie going fast on the motorway or towing.

Ok... Is there a way of monitoring the Oil thermostat with the DSL1? or Oil temp?

You can hook up an oil temp sensor, but unless you're looking to log it it's easier to just fit a gauge to monitor it.
