Engine maintenance prior to fitting - Chopper746 - 07-10-2016

Hi guys,

New to the forum have just got my hands on an om606 i am just wondering if there is anything i should change other than the obvious prior to fitment seals, water pump etc. I will be cleaning and painting it first and looking to run around 350bhp with reliability.

Thanks for any advice.

Another item to check is the plastic holders that hold the injector lines. They break and the lines rub on the intake. Also the injector return lines. Good idea to replace the glowplugs if it is a high mile engine.

The glowplugs in an OM606 should only be replaced when the head is warm. Otherwise they will likely stick in the head and snap off. Then you will be sad.
