Turbo Choice - matfield - 07-09-2016

Hi Lads,

I've been offered this turbo for very reasonable money. These are the specs:

Compressor:
Trim: 55
Inducer Diameter: 50.5 mm
Exducer Diameter: 76 mm
A/R:  0.5

Turbine:
Trim: 73
Inducer Diameter: 65.5 mm
Exducer Diameter: 55.9 mm
A/R: 0.63

Its a T3 flange, so I'd need either an adapter or a new manifold. Its also internal wastegate.

This is going into a 2 ton 4x4, there will be a full 3" exhaust, I'm hoping for 250bhp with the stock electronic pump, and as little lag as possible.

What are peoples opinions.

Too big, too small, cold side too big? any advice is great!

Thanks

Mat

better to say what turbo it is, those numbers can mean from 250-400HP

The turbine is close in size to an HX30, and the compressor is in between an HX30 and 35, so depending on how big the exhaust housing is, it would probably be decent for 250 hp. I'm no expert though...

Its a GT35 cold side with a smaller hot side, possibly GT28 I think.

It sounds like it would be good down low, and choke some up top. .63 AR exhaust is pretty small, but if your going to run the stock pump you should be okay I would think.

If it was me I would run it Smile

To be honest... If I could get 220bhp and have torque and power up to 4,500 with a nice power curve using this turbo I'd be happy.

I think for the money it'll be a good bet. I guess anything has to be better than the stock turbo.
