S124 OM606 swap parts list - AlpinaM30B35 - 05-26-2016

Getting the parts list together for the S124 STD swap

So far we have a complete 606.962 from a w210, an 8mm 603 pump from Goran, and one spruce green/tan 1994 E320 wagon that has done 225,000 gasoline powered miles.

What other pieces are needed to swap the 603 pump onto the 606?

I plan on using w124/603 mount arms and oil pan/pickup tube, oil filter housing and cooler lines...all these will bolt onto the .962 correct?

Yes but the oil filter cap will not clear the 606 intake manifold without a spacer.

It will fit if you grind the cap little bit and manifold too (around 1-2mm). This is how I made it to work.

Thanks for the info guys, has anyone tried to fit the w210 606 oil pan in a w124? Would save some scrubbing of this filthy 603 pan

Do you have a photo of how you modified them?

The 603.961 300ce and 95 E300D look on anxiously

Don't have picture, but the problem is very small, just take material off from the 6cyl pipe side and from the oil filter housing cap at the same point (maybe 1mm here can be taken off, o-ring  groove is pretty close). You will see it when you bolt that 603 filter housing with 606 intake manifold.

I have used 210 oilpan, only problem is that arb is little bit hitting the pan. With this new car i plan to put little spacers between the arb mounts to get it little bit lower. First car i changed 606 with 210 oil pan I didn't do anything, oil pan did scrub the arb little bit.

Ok, I was outside looking at all the cars and it looks like the 124 400e sway bar/arb should have plenty of clearance on the 210.962 oil pan.

It also appears that the 210 oil filter housing will clear the firewall so I might just leave that alone and make custom cooler lines.

The 210 motor mounts appear to be roughly in the right spot but I know it can't be that easy

RE: S124 OM606 swap parts list - Hario' - 06-02-2016

You can easily make some spacers to go between the arb drop mounts and the chassis rails, just from aluminium bar stock with a few holes and longer bolts works fine.

What is wrong with .962 oil filter housing? I thought it took a newer type element?

RE: S124 OM606 swap parts list - AlpinaM30B35 - 06-02-2016

Using a v8 sway bar will completely eliminate any chance of interference, plus we have a 400e donor car. Nothing wrong with the .962 filter housing, just thought I may need to use a w124/603 setup in the S124

Ah maybe you are thinking of the 603 fuel filter housing you'll definitely need because it has banjos!

RE: S124 OM606 swap parts list - Sultzi - 06-04-2016

I'm using 603 oil filter housing because I'm using the original oil cooler lines. Pretty much same which one to use.
