3.5 liter block with 606 24v head - tgg416 - 04-19-2016

Hello. Im trying to build a combination of the OM603 350 12valve block with the OM606 24 valve top head.
The block is known for bending rods so Im going to use stronger rods and because of 4valve/cylinder I also need new pistons.
The bore is standard 89 mm and because my cylinders is not straight enough Im going to bore ut to 89,5 mm
I found OM604 pistons that is 4 valve and oversize to 89,5 mm but it is 2 choices that I dont understand what to chose
 
1: top land hight 11,5 mm or 11,7 mm

2: Compression height 43,55 or 43,35 mm

What u need to be aware is that the biggest problem u will encounter is the head gasket!!!
piston projection has to do with the available material MB had when designing the engines and still be within 22/1 compression ratio.
how they did it , they decked or used thicker head gaskets.
usually the piston projection must remain in the 0,5 to 0,7 but if need to deck the block u can use a rebuild gasket to kill gaps till 1,3mm projection. a regular gasket usually is 1,8mm thick.

since u have to build/find a custom made gasket , keep in mind that whatever is your way sooner or later u´ll have to consider that.
Aftermarket pistons for 604´s are not direct fit for any of your intention, better is to have a piston a be sure in the end all will fit in the right places.

the compression height is distance from center pin to top , the other one is the piston fore head size, from top ring gap to top of piston

there´s something relating the cyl well that u have to be aware too.

Top ring to top of piston crown = crown thickness.

thickness between rings = 'ring land' thickness
