Dodge cummins 07-08 holset turbo question - Actros617 - 09-16-2009
I was wanting to know if a vgt holset turbo charger from a 07-09 dodge cummins, be able to fit into a w126 300sd engine bay I know that it's computer control but it shouldn't be hard to convert to a penumatic...

It will fit, but its much too large (in airflow) for a 617 to handle unless you're wanting to push 300+hp. Even the 4BT guys say its too large for their engines.
Its also 50lbs.

Really, even it's Vnt it would not help in spooling the turbo.

Its not so much getting it to spool but the huge compressor wheel flowing too much air to be useful.

HX30, HY30, HY35, HE341 and HE341Ve. The HX/HY25 would be a little too small and the HX35 would be slow to spool.

yes I believe they are t3 on the older Holsets! HX HY series

Yes, all T3 except the HE351Ve.

What's the diffrence between HX and HY and W at the end of model it has a W dose that means wastegated???

I believe the HX vs HY has something to do with the size of the exhaust housing???

As Will said, turbine housing size. HY has a smaller housing that will spool much quicker. W means wastegated.
