Bosch 044 is your best bet. Need 2.5-3 bar fuel pressure. The vane pumps die quickly when pumping diesel

Hi Duncan
When using 044 pump do you need to fit a pressure reg to the system
As a precaution not to blow off fuel hoses
Thanks

You absolutely need a FPR.

Any guys out here who tried the Chinese 044 pump? I ordered one because it was like 20 bucks. I have 0 confident in it. Just curious.

I have original new bosch pump from 3.0 TDI for cheap!

What are in tank CDI lift pumps like? I haven't taken mine out of Vito to have a look, but I do recall 3bar mentioned. No.idea if regulated by high pressure pump return or in the lift pump. They are easy to come by in my local scrappy. But obviously a pain to fit to a tank without the large opening that many modern plastic tanks have. Hmm anyone know how they work?

I'm installing an OEM BMW pump, it looks like a slender 044 and cost about 20 bucks.

These are supposed to be good pumps if you want external inline:
