722.6 Air/Air Cooler - Should I add a filter too? - Hario' - 09-07-2015

So for various reasons I have to delete my oil/water tranny cooler located in the rad header tank of my W202, and replace it with a Mocal type air/air cooler which will be fitted above the IC.

I just thought while I'm piping it, I could easily add a spin-on type filter piped in series with the cooler? My ATF looked quite bad after last change, so it can only help to reduce valve wear right? Or if particles in the ATF isn't a common cause of fail I won't bother?

All the yanks seem to add one, but because 'MURRICA! I'm not sure if they are really needed..

Thanks

i wouldnt bother. Here (america) people add them as changing filters and trans oil is a pain due to no drain plugs on older transmissions.
