W202 traction control - Repetitio - 06-03-2015

Hi,
while i´m looking for a good w202 250 TD for my superturbo project i just saw that some of them have something called "ETS" in germany. It is a traction control wich brakes the wheel down when it slips...i hope you understand what i mean Big Grin
I found informations that this programm was not in US cars. My question now is, if anybody knows something about that, and is it possible to take it of? My car should become a diesel drifter so this is a problem

Go on driftworks.com and search for stavros build threads, will show you how to remove w202 driver aids for drifting...

IF you didn't find it, You should be able to pull the plug/Fuse out of the ABS unit in the engine bay.

Clearly do this at your own risk, you will lose the ABS function as well!!

Yea i found it already. But i read in German Forums that newer models will go into "error Engine mode". i will just try it out then Smile

What year is yours? This is the only forum I have found that Mercedes owners actually have the balls to try anything, this is why I don't use any of the others. Mine is 98 no eml light or limp mode.

I have tried it unlike most internet Mercedes bullshiters

RE: W202 traction control - Repetitio - 06-09-2015

Oh thats nice to hear. Mine is not bought yet -.-. I was looking for one older model because i thought they may have not that much electronic helpers and they are hard to find in germany. So i was thinking if there is an easy way to take the traction control off. You helped me a lot, now i can get any year that has low milage Smile

Booster what traction control does your car have? There are two different versions i think. One is called "ETS" and the other "ESP".

Oh, i just found a video from russians that shows how to take this ETS off.

Just if anybody else will have this problem in the future Smile

RE: W202 traction control - Hario' - 08-12-2015

Hello I have a 1999 UK spec W202 C250TD and there is a button on the dashboard to turn off ESP....

Top left button, problem solved Wink

RE: W202 traction control - Booster - 08-12-2015

Mine didn't turn off completely doing that. Still seemed to stop me doing burnouts.

RE: W202 traction control - Repetitio - 08-12-2015

yep thats what i also read in different forums...therefore i posted that Wink

So there is no dedicated ESP fuse? I suppose not if it uses the ABS, I would check mine but its in a barn in France at the moment..

You think that is bad: Mine cuts power when I left foot brake and accelerate to stall on the torque converter like the Americans can Sad
