722.6 shift lock removal - DiseaselWeasel - 05-01-2015

Hi!

Is it possible to permanently delete this very annoying shift lock cable thing on 722.6 gearbox??

Many thanks!

Yes,
Remove the pan and you can see the pin that holds the cam in place. use a chisel to slide the pin back and remove the lock arm. You can get a factory plug that is for plugging the hole or you can just leave the plastic piece in there disconnected.

You don't need to remove oil pan. Just remove the cable from gearbox by turning the connection 1/4 turn and do not unscrew the hex head bolt. If you remove the cable you'll see that there is little switch moving in and out when you press the pedal. Just cut the cable off from the connecting plastic peace and modify that peace so its' end stays out and pushes the lock off. Then put the modified plastic peace back in.
In other words modify that cable end switch to stay solid on the pedal down position. But of course you can remove the lock arm also if you want.
