Block plug - ForcedInduction - 08-29-2009

What is this plug? Main oil gallery, a second coolant drain?

RE: Block plug - totaldisaster - 08-30-2009

oil cooler line mounting point. There's supposed to be a mounting bracket there.

Are those hose clamps I see on your cooler lines?.... tsk tsk, Forced

...I'll assume its b/c of the oil bypass filter

That makes total sense.

There was a bracket there. The cooler lines from the 76 300D use the engine mount arm bolts.

How so? Its no different than crimp fittings, both types clamp the hoses onto the barbed hardline fittings.

No, oil cooler hoses from a 76 300D.

Compare to what was unknowingly on my 300TD for about 2 years, until I discovered it during the 300TD-240D engine swap.

ooohhh..

pretty colors. They're rather patriotic if I do say so.

I can live with that, but do we agree that you can over tighten a hose clamp and greatly depreciate its holding strength?
HEY! what brand makes the orange in-line filter?

Completely. They are supposed to be snug, not so tight that chunks of hose puke out the ribs. Big Grin
My method is to only use 3 fingers on the screwdriver.

99% sure its NAPA/WIX.
