If flange is no problem THIS turbo should be just fine for 250hp.

RE: turbo for ~250hk ? - MrHope - 01-03-2015

the gt28 looks like something i could use!

u take a VNT type turbine install it in your veicle , and thats it.
what is the big deal? Vanes control? easy, or u take the vanes in a static position where they produce the best result, and the engine becomes limited by high egt, and high rpm. or u take the motion path, wether by a vac controled actuator , or a pressure controled.
i have a presure controled at 1.8 Bar.
mores details only for detailed questions
regards.

What about HE221W? Not suggesting, asking.. I can have this turbo and also plan for 200-250HP for starters.. thanks.

VNT only with proper control, at least tie vanes to some wastegate actuator.. it works good enough. Dont fixate them! Big Grin

don't u have backpressure problems with the vnt controlled by the boost actuator? what is the rmp range that it makes good torque?

Of course you have them.. true VNT control open vanes when you dont need boost. Other than shorter turbo lifespan due to it always rotating at high speed and lower miles per galon due to backpressure, there are no other downsides since its always boosting something its ready to spool up whenever you slap the pedal. In my case torque peak was 1700RPM and it held to about 3200, then died away gradualy.

Well for a much better vnt mechanical control it should be also used throttle position somehow. There's a guy who pretty much nailed this system, his nickname on forums is Libby but all his pics are gonne! Found some interesting schemes though. It's a little PITA but can be done Smile As for the brainiacs a N75 solenoid controlled by the EGR map could also control the vanes.

The GT2860RS linked earlier is Chinese counterfeit C.R.A.P.

for a little bit more one can have a genuine and indestructible Holset HE221W...

RE: turbo for ~250hk ? - Hario' - 01-12-2015

Unless the vanes are controlled against a map you get bad things like boost during cruise. HE221W very pretty..
