First project, w124 om606 - mexterdorgan - 12-01-2014 My first project since I walked this earth. Im both excited and scared of whats coming, but I got alot of inspiriation from this forum and I know you guys have alot of experince. Hopefully I will get alot of help on this journey. Mercedes w124 300d -92 with OM603 manual gearbox. My ambitions are 450-550 hp with a chassi capable of handling it. Future setup, and purchases. Engine: [x] OM606.962 [x] Mynä 7mm IP [/] Custom manifold by F-tune Performance [/] Precision 6266 GEN2 BB V-band inlet .82 a/r V-band out [/] Stiffer valvesprings [/] Big alu radiatior and IC Chassis & Driveline [/] Polyurethane bushings everywhere by Hedgehog Motorsport [/] DPS Coilovers by Yellowspeed Racing [/] Gs6-37dz 6-speed gearbox modified by F-Tune Performance [/] Custom Flywheel [/] Sachs 765 Pressureplate [/] 6-puck sinterclutch [/] D2 bigbrake kit The interior is stock blue atm, and looks like shit, so that will be dealt with as well along the way. I guess I forgot alot, but atlest you get a hint of what Im about to get into.. Taking pictures isnt my strong side but I'll do my best to please all readers on this forum. The new one Started with the disassemble. It went fairly well, just some issues with the glowplugs . 5 of them came out as planned while 1 didnt. The body broke but thankfully a friend of mine drilled it out. Valves out. RE: First project, w124 om606 - EDH_Performance - 12-01-2014 Nice project! Are you buying the flywheel from bakaxeldelar that has many bolt patterns? one of them fits the sachs 765 RE: First project, w124 om606 - raysorenson - 12-01-2014 The bakaxeldelar FW is very tall. I had to shorten my slave cylinder rod and the pivot ball AND clearance the back of the release lever AND shave 1.8mm off the flywheel to keep the release bearing from pushing on the clutch fingers too hard all the time. The threads for 765 plate are not deep because they have to stop at the starter ring. Surfacing this FW will shorten the already short threads. The whole thing is kind of a pain in the ass, especially when used with the 765 clutch. It would work easy if you could make a spacer between the trans and engine.
