My W126 transmission post... - cannonballSDL - 07-29-2009

"Overkill is consistently more fun."

that being said, has anyone modded there stock oil pan, to hold more oil? on the drivers side it look like theres room for a small extension. maybe a quart or two extra would help keeping it cool and extending the life of the tranny fluid .

Or option number 2 is. if the line that are being pointed out in the pic are the High PSI lines to the factory oil cooler. i could use a RX7 oil cooler that holds a extra quart or 2...

The 2 option is to build a box out of sheet metal and weld it on and drill the 3/8 hole!

Or maybe both! keep in mind that i want to stay auto and i have overheated and 86's my last tranny ending my hopes of living up to my S/nSad
Ok so far, i have come up with 2 options for the oil pan.

Option 1. use a piece of 3" exhaust pipe and square one side of it. weld a flat piece of sheet metal to both ends, and weld it to the pan... Then drill some 3/8 holes thought the pan into the exhaust pipe so the extra fluid is some what baffled...

The system already holds 8qts. I'd put an air cooler in place of the water cooler.
