intake manifold - oel_brenner - 09-27-2008

it seems everybody who fits an intercooler to the OM603
basically blocks off the square hole where the charge pipe bolted up

then cuts a hole in the opposite side of the plenum
and weld in a section of aluminum pipe or tube.. pretty simple to do..

but what about using the normally aspirated intake manifold for the OM603 ?
they are not very plentiful here in the states, and one would have to build a pressure capable plunum to replace the air filter box..

but then with all that work in making a plenum I could just make one from scratch
not unlike this one:

thoughts ??

Re: intake manifold - oel_brenner - 09-27-2008

looks like all the injector lines are routed/bent in a different way..
adds even more work as they all have to be changed

maybe not such a good idea
