A proper way to 500hp with 606??? - pmj4147 - 04-10-2014

Finally i ruined my OM662 with just 2.2bar boost.

probably about near 300rwhp???

However,,,,

I'm now planning OM606 swap to my car.

And i got 140cc 7.5mm elements from Goran, TE06-25G with 67-84mm billet intake.(Up to 650hp, maximum 2.8bar)

and stock RS178 pump aswell.

What else do i have to prepare some?????

Is the stock pump with 7.5mm Doesn't fit to 500hp??
do i need special pump??

500whp or 500bhp? There's a difference of about 100bhp.

8mm elements and around 180cc for 500bhp. Bigger elements give you shorter duration which is important in diesel combustion. You can get 500bhp with even 7mm elements, but with higher EGT. If you plan to use that 500bhp, you should go with 8mm as high temperatures are your enemies.

25g is small for this kind of power in IDI diesel engine. something like hx40 super and around 3bar needed.

We got 500bhp with OM603, Gt37V and 7mm electronically controlled pump some five-six years ago (no 8mm at that time). Low end torque needed to be restricted as it did over 1bar already @2000rpm.

Be carefull with methanol as it self ignites around 16:1 CR.

No. We controlled ALDA pressure and VNT with 3D map (DTA ECU). No black smoke anywhere, err... maybe some from the tires...Rolleyes
