W202 with om606 STD - sale94 - 02-13-2014

Hello everyone, im currently building a w202 with om606 and big turbo. The plan is:
Om606 24v turbo with turbobandit exhaust manifold, turbo tb70 and tb wastegate and ofcourse Dieselmeken IP. The gearbox is a bmw ZF tds thats welded to mercedes bolt pattern. Clutch will be custom flywheel, sachs 765 and sinter clutch

The chassi is getting repaired for rust and everything under the car new.

Here are some pics.

Here is the car that i started out with. Its a c220 -94. Drove it whole summer with original engine.

nice project,
are you far away from Dieselmeken, he can sort your pump out.

thanks, i have about 3 h drive to him so he will fix the pump ofcourse.

nice front bumper, is the lower piece original?

yeah its the facelift bumper

RE: W202 with om606 STD - F.R.A.S - 02-14-2014

Nice build, will be a snug fit with that big engine. Personally I don't like those Chinese manifolds but I reckon Roman sells them quite cheap. Will it fit? w202 is super tight around the engine...

This will be a super cool car when it's done. What are you aiming for power wise? 600hp? Love those rims. My w202 is the same color as yours actually. But only the small 4cyl.

Keep them photos coming mate!

Thanks, i havent test fitted the engine yet so i dont know yet. Lot of rust to repair on the car. The manifold is pretty good and ive never build a manifold before so its good to start with.

Im aiming for around 500 bhp but will rebuild the engine after the summer.

Will post some more photos today after work!

I have a question for you guys, what can have caused this? its the baffle plate inside the oilpan, the one thats bolted to the crank. Vibrations?

RE: W202 with om606 STD - F.R.A.S - 02-14-2014

Yea, I'm pretty confident he build one and sent down tho Asia. Some of those guys build decent stuff. Hope this is one of them. Almost all Chinese manifolds cracks unfortunately. I'm crossing my fingers over here.

While the head cover is off, remove the injectors so Dieselmeken can set the right opening pressure while you're at it.

500hp is easy in the om606, getting a normal 8mm 180cc pump then.

Nice pictures mate, that gearbox is the way to go.

The manifold looks good and strong so hope it will not crack.

Yeah that was my thought so i dont have to worry about that.

I thinking about the 220 cc pump because i have plans on building a drift car later but i dont know, the plan is daily driver for this car so i wonder wich one is most streetable.

Hope the gearbox holds up, otherwise ill get a 530 d gearbox.

Will get some work done in the weekend on the car, all rust holes is soon done so next step is to paint underneath and wheelarches, then order all chassiparts so i can get it on wheels and start mounting the engine.

RE: W202 with om606 STD - sale94 - 02-16-2014

Hello, have been working my ass off the last days and here is some pictures!

Rust holes is finally done, almost all the boring work is done, just need to paint it black under.

RE: W202 with om606 STD - Hario' - 02-25-2014

Awesome in every way, ive read this thread 5 times before realising I'm working on the same problem! Wild you please answer some questions, do the 606 mounts allow direct swap into your w202? And by your refining would the factory 606 exhaust manifold with turbo fit the 606 when its installed in the w202 chassis?

I am envious of everything you are doing right now, keep it up, hollow out bumper for maximum intercooler beans!

Thanks. I havent test fitted the engine yet but i belive that i can use the 606 arms. The factor exhaust manifold is quite small and i think it will fit, but i have alot bigger manifold, not sure if my even fits but with a big hammer everything fits.

Soon the car will be on own wheels then i will fit the engine and start doing the fun work.

RE: W202 with om606 STD - Hario' - 03-06-2014

Awesome.

If the rpm sensor from the 220 fits the 606 your dash tach should work fine with mechanical 603 IP instead of electronic one.

Thoughts on speedo pickup on your BMW gearbox not working with merc dash?

RE: W202 with om606 STD - Sami/B - 03-07-2014

Nice! Besiktiga? (MOT?) or track only?

I need to read rpm from the startertooths i think but ill solve that later.

W202 gets the speed from the ABS sensors so that is already solved Smile
(03-07-2014, 06:20 PM)Sami/B Nice! Besiktiga? (MOT?) or track only?

Thanks. I will try to register it with the engine so i can drive it legally. Plan is daily driver on summer.

RE: W202 with om606 STD - Hario' - 03-09-2014

Yes I meant w210 measures rpm from starter ring gear teeth on 606 and I recon w202 does the same on 605 so you can just plug 202 car loom into starter ring gear sensor on 606.and your dash tach will work normally.

RE: W202 with om606 STD - Hario' - 03-24-2014

Do you intend to fit slam pannel from AMG inline 6 W202 as it moves the radiator forward to clear a 6 cylinder engine?

(I mean the C36 by the way) this is what I intend to do..

RE: W202 with om606 STD - sale94 - 02-08-2015

Hello guys. The project was laid on ice for a while because i needed to change garage. Took some time to find a new garage.

Have started to work on the car again and got some pics for you.

I believe that manifold will do the job Smile. Turbobandit products are way better quality than normal cheap chinese crap.

are you shure about that?
got a om602 that has the sensor on the teeth of the flywheel, the sensor gives about 4v dc at idle, while at the om606 i hade a totaly different signal 0.5v , like a couple of dots each rpm, might my sensor/pickup be faulty?
what kind of signal does the om606 or om605 produce? shure its the teeth of the acctual flywheel and not any other "sensorthingys?"

hmm...

hmm...
There are two different sensors, one is on the teeth of the flywheel (for tacho)and one is for 5 or 6 marks behind the teeth. W210 om606 don't have separate sensor for tacho, only that "wrong" sensor which ecu uses. You need to drill and machine hole for that tacho sensor, it is located in the oil pan.

RE: W202 with om606 STD - sale94 - 02-10-2015

I decided to ditch the wiring harnes, weighs too much. Will build a new simple one only for lights etc. Will run an aftermarket tacho on the alternator
