Hi, I have a non-turbo om602.911

I was wondering if i could make with an arduino a mileage calculator.
But i don't know if the fuel pump is linear with the throttle and rpm?

Lets say im giving 50% throttle by 1500 rpm.
Does the amount of fuel double with 50% throttle and 3000 rpm?
Or double fuel with 100% throttle and 1500rpm?

If this is possible, i want to add a potmeter to the throttle, RPM and speedohall signal to the arduino and i could calculate the mileage.

So if anybody has some input in a non turbo pump amout of fuels delivery would be very helpful.

it is hard to grasp this idea...but I assume that you want to
lead some kind of analog input to Arduino?

yes potentiometer can do that but I sincerly doubt that it will be
precise given that you will first convert mechanical IP walk to
electrical (analog) walk of potentiometer and phase 3 to Arduino..

did I get this right you wanna do?

That is the idea, i think i potmeter is accurate enough, the W124/W126 with Reiserechner works on the same principle, (using the potmeter from the CIS)

if its accurate marge is around 10% im happy about that.
As example (made up numbers)
10% throttle 10cc per rpm
20% throttle 30cc per rpm
30% throttle 50cc per rpm
etc.

Your fuel doesn't double at 3000rpm with the same amount of throttle. Your rack position is the only thing in line with the fuel consumption. If you can measure rack travel you can calculate the fuel consumption. You would still have a little offset but that's very minimal.

Nothing is linear with the throttle position. The LDA and the governor will alter the position of the rack independent of what the throttle is doing. Only way to do this with reasonable accuracy is to either monitor the racks position or have 2 flow meters, one on the flow and one on the return of the fuel lines.
