2nd Flex disk? - poleshady - 12-11-2013

I wanted to replace the flex disks on my 300d, I was able to find the flex disks no problem, except for there is a 2nd flex disk bewteen the front flex disk and the drive shaft. I cant find any part number or part listing for it. That rubber is cracked there too and i want to replace it while im there.
Any one know where to find one?

Not a flex disc as such it's a balance device. Should be fine even if it has hailine cracks.

The appear to have stopped making those several years back, like in the 1990's... If you can find a new one, buy it. Otherwise, what Druk said^^.

I havent taken a closer look yet.
so does the rubber just hold the outer ring, and doesn't have any load or transmit power on it while driving?

That's correct.

It's a harmonic vibration damper. It you identify a problem with it, you can easily remove it from the driveshaft. It's a press fit and can be hammered off without damage to the shaft.
