HELP OM617.95 no power at all - mike-81-240d - 11-27-2013

Fuel filters are new, tank is clean, valves are adjusted, trans uses 1st gear, turbo spools a bit but I still need to hook my gauge up. I'm at a loss here. Feels like it has all of 25hp. Any ideas?

Check the ALDA they make these cars super slow if they are not working. Check the banjo bolt on the back of the intake manifold they can plug up. Then the over boost solenoid on the fire wall. I usual just bypass the over boost solenoid anyways all it dose is reduce the fuel to the car if there is to much boost over 16psi or if it fails. I usual run my line directly from the manifold to the ALDA. You can also remove the ALDA entirely off the pump and do a test drive to confirm that its the problem or not

Yeah check that banjo on the back of the intake manifold, and maybe try running a new line from it straight to the ALDA. I remember mine plugged up one time and I had to clean it out, then I accidentally broke the line going to the ALDA so I ended up replacing that too at the same time (with some drip tubing I had laying around at the house lol). Also back that ALDA adjustment out for some more powaahh

Low fuel pressure to the IP can also cause it to b sluggish

Cleaned the banjo bolt again. Then went to adjust the screw on the alda, and it broke clean off. Attempting to remove the alda completely.

exactly,..pinch the return fuel line and observe Smile
it can be one of few possible starvation issues....

edit: you did check linkage travel on and around IP..dont ya? Smile

Linkage gets full travel, alda is now removed.

Hooked my VDO boost gauge up, and although it sounded healthy at or around idle it didn't build any boost at all during a drive, like 0 psi.

Beginning to think that my stock Garrett finally took a shit. Although today I'm going to remove the down pipe, and attempt to tighten the compressor shaft in case it came loose.

Also the car is getting plenty of fuel, like absolutely belches it while driving!

loads of fuel and no air...you might be onto something here

do you feel any air sucked to turbo inlet?

well...without turbo you are back to 240D TongueSmile

RE: HELP OM617.95 no power at all - MFSuper90 - 11-30-2013

Don't tighten the nut on the charger unless you have the torque specs for it! Over tightening can be just as bad or worse than being loose.

Also some are left hand thread, most service manuals will tell you.

Found my problem. Somehow my engine is still healthy after eating the blades.

I just had a '14 GLK 250 do the same after it ate a metal pin, no big deal, replaced turbos and IC
