also 4bt they can make 300hp and weight less than a 6bt

I seriously doubt you'd get 4-6mpg.
And 300hp with a 4bt needs a good amount of mods. Twins for good drivability, big single for a smoky pig.

Yeah I'm just gonna keep my eyes open for a 6bt methinks

RE: Getting me a cornbinder - willbhere4u - 01-23-2014

i would go Detroit 6v53 for the noise

RE: Getting me a cornbinder - MFSuper90 - 01-26-2014

Biggest problem with the Detroit Is getting decent gearing behind them so you can run highway speeds at a decent rpm so they don't suck fuel like it's their job

So I starting pulling the engine apart the other day so I could change the head gaskets and get the heads checked out, probably would have only taken another 20 minutes or so to get the heads off because that's all that's left but it was dark and cold and I wanted another beer lol.

Hopefully that link works, for whatever reason my phone always decides to freeze up when I try to upload pics

They make things easier, no messing with timing chains and overhead cams

Just less efficient, but I do agree that if rather work on a pushrod engine

Still haven't put this thing back together, hopefully this weekend I can get the engine buttoned up since the rebuilt heads are on as well as the rocker assemblies, so all I really need to do is put the intake and exhaust back on
