Mesh Grille mod - sassparilla_kid - 10-08-2013

I saw this photo over on the facebook and thought it would be pretty slick to do something along these lines with my w115, although I have no idea where I would get that kind of mesh or anything similar. I guess I need to cruise the interweb and maybe a few local "hardware" stores to see if I can find anything similar

That looks very much like a wire mesh ceiling tile.

Maybe thats what they sourced? size would be about right too.

The mesh on that grill looks more like expanded aluminum mesh rather than wire mesh.
It can be picked up at any home improvement store for very cheap. It's used in masonry/stucco work. It has sharp edges & bends easily. I'd imagine a junebug @ 65mph would do considerable damage to it.

Those wire ceiling tiles are badass! I've never seen those. Now that'd make a nice grill! But where could one order 1 piece?

Don't early Mercedes grilles have some kind of mesh center?
