w202, changing to mechanical pump with auto box. - mantahead - 05-17-2013

hi,
that 200+bhp w202 i did for a guy. c250 turbo diesel.
its at 212bhp 262ft lb at the minute.

whats the max power and torque the autobox will take?
can i change to mechanical pump with the autobox, will the gearbox ecu be ok with no electric pump?

cheers.

From what I've read the 722.612 is rated to 330Nm / 243 ft lb, I think all C250's have this box fitted.

The pump and box are linked through CAN so the box would need a separate controller with a mechanical pump.

i never really studied the auto boxes before as i use manual myself.

so what does the auto box ecu need to know, rpm, mph, kickdown.
does it need throttle position.
what if i leave engine ecu and just change pump?

I was under the impression that w202 c250s had the 722.5 transmission which isn't particularly strong.

Excerpt taken from the W202 Wikipedia article:

''At the launch of the "official" C-Class, all W202 variants were equipped with a five-speed manual gearbox. The 722.4 four-speed automatic transmission, also called 4G-TRONIC, was available as extra cost (standard on the C 36 AMG), which US dealers chose to mainly offer on sales lots. In 1996 this old transmission - which was on sale since 1981 - was replaced by a five-speed automatic gearbox (aka 722.5 or 5G-TRONIC), which received the auto with manual shifting in 1999 (722.6).''
