I am putting gorans 6 mm pump 90cc on mine. I guess I figured upgraded garret 60 trim might do the trick but I'm pretty inexperienced in this. Nuts and bolts I'm cool.but the engineering factor not so much yet. Based on what I've read the hx 35 is bigger than the garret but overall not huge. Guys, what do u think for my application? 617.952 no intercooler, yet. I already had a garret rebuilt with the 60, hadn't really had a game plan yet. DV what does your actuator go for?

Somewhere on here somebody told me a day or two ago that my garrett might be hurting.with.gorans pump. Of course I'm rockin the 115 intake so stock bolt in not a concern but is the exhaust standard bolt on t3? I'm hoping I don't need your turbo cause like I said I just had one built. I could probably sell it at cost.....

RE: Holset hx35w 7 blade - dieselboy - 04-30-2013

The actuator for the holset is like 30$ iirc. It is a standard t3 divided flange and on this one a 2.75" v band exhaust outlet. (I usually weld a 3" vband to that)

It would be a little laggy on a 617 with 90cc but it wouldn't be terrible. There was a guy running one on his and it was quite good iirc. I ran a hy35 on my car with a stock pump and it wasn't that bad and it flowed a lot of air. A hx35 I a good match for the 603/606 and are typically good for 30ish psi of boost. They tend to get out of the compressor map and over speed around 35psi.

That and they sound like they are going to suck any small pets or children from the car next to you lol.

Actually actuators are like $50-60 new. I' m open to offers.

lgreeley83 - I don't think you are going to get a low end power you need with that turbo. However, I do believe it will work with in a compound with a HX25 or something smaller. I have the hx25 and hx35, would most likely do this if I get my act together to get a better pump.

Hmm..I guess ill see how my garret does for now. Compounding probably not in my scope yet..

If you end up smoking up a storm on WOT, you need a bigger turbo. Compound maybe in your cards or a VNT.
